Diethylene glycol diethyl ether is used as a solvent for reactions performed at higher temperatures. It is involved in the preparation of nitrocellulose, resins and adhesives. It is utilized as a scrubbing medium to absorb carbonyl sulfide (COS), an impurity in petroleum refineries.

Applications
L’éther diéthylique de diéthylèneglycol est utilisé comme solvant pour les réactions effectuées à des températures plus élevées. Il participe à la préparation de nitrate de cellulose, de résines et d’adhésifs. Il est utilisé comme milieu de lavage pour absorber le sulfure de carbonyle (COS), une impureté dans les raffineries de pétrole.

Solubilité
Miscible aux hydrocarbures, à l’éthanol, à l’éther éthylique et aux solvants organiques. Immiscible avec l’eau.

Remarques
Sensible à l’air. Gardez le récipient hermétiquement fermé dans un endroit sec et bien ventilé. Incompatible avec les agents oxydants forts et les acides forts.
