Diethylene glycol monoethyl ether has low setting point and low viscocity at low temperature so it is used in manufacturing brake fluid. It is used as a flow and gloss promoter in paint industries, in production of printing ink and as a cleaner in offset printing. Also used in textile as a solvent for dyestuff in the printing and dying of fiber & fabrics, in the production & wood preservaties.

Applications
L’éther monoéthylique de diéthylèneglycol a un point de consigne bas et une faible viscosité à basse température, il est donc utilisé dans la fabrication de liquide de frein. Il est utilisé comme promoteur de flux et de brillance dans les industries de la peinture, dans la production d’encre d’impression et comme nettoyant pour l’impression offset. Également utilisé dans le textile comme solvant pour les teintures dans l’impression et la coloration de fibres et de tissus, dans la production des produits de conservation du bois.

Il est hygroscopique. Incompatible avec les agents oxydants.
